Last Two!
And that's it! I've done my last two photos in my set of six! Now just to start putting everything up in my exhibition space, photos coming at the end of next week. Have a look at Louise's swimmer photoshoot and Rach's 50's housewife photoshoot....

Photoshoots, masks and getting ready for exhibition!
WOW, I have been pretty awful with my posting recently, which isn't surprising considering the amount of work that I (and all my fashion/textiles lot) have been up to! The final exhibition is coming fast and furious, which is pretty scary as it is what this whole project has and will amount to. So this is about 2 weeks after my last post and since then I have done A LOT. Finished another 3 masks and am very nearly finished with my last two (I had to re start one as I simply was NOT happy with it). So in the land of mask making at my house, here are my first four photoshoots...
I kept the backgrounds black, so that with all the different mask themes - there was something to unify them all. So that when it comes to putting them in my space, there will be a colour theme of black and metallics.

So all go on that front.
Otherwise, I have been topping up ALL of my sketchbook work - mostly research. Well it has to be done if I'm going to get this Distinction I am praying and working for!
This weekend I have also started on something I wasn't initially going to make. I feel that with the week left I had, there was time to fit in 6 more outcomes to make for my 6 "princesses" that I made the scarves for. So I have used the prints I did to create a pattern on the computer which I have used to make some little make up bags (all that makeup has to go somewhere!)
So here they are, what dya think?
I'll leave it at that for tonight - I NEED to sleep if there is to be any hope of me doing more work tomorrow. Plus, hopefully the next post I do in about a week will be my final exhibition space WOOP

PRINTING TIME!
I am on the verge of printing - YAY! and also not yay because I have to do it all in one week......
But anyway I have started designing my final 6 scarves (only one more left to design woo), and they are each based around a girl in my class and are meant to project their personality/likes/interests. So here are my designs that I did quickly on Photoshop!

Oranges and lemons for Holly
Galaxy print for Jazzy (not silk screen - just lots of dye flicking and glitter)
Lace print for Flo!
Lily print for Ellie!
Ellie's other design that I'm not using but quite like anyway :)
And Lauren's print that I'm not sure about yet - might just use birds.
So yeah that's what I've been doing, can't wait to finally print/make them! After this is all done I am going to feel SLIGHTLY less pressure as it's something out of the way and I can get on with making my masks. YES MASKS! eek! Anyway - I need to go and do some ironing (not the de-creasing type, the iron on transfer type, wouldn't catch me ironing in a million years!!) so I'll hop off.
Enjoy

Sketchbook workings...for once!
Getting well and truly stuck in to our Final Major Project now (basically the most important, scariest, stressful thing we will ever have to do at college!) and I have actually cracked right on and done quite a fair bit in my sketchbook!
To quickly explain I am modernizing the story of an old fairytale called The Twelve Dancing Princesses (maybe you've heard of it!?) Anyway I am using a version of it I actually own for inspiration which is full of 18th century style dresses and fashion within the illustrations. For my final outcomes I plan to make 6 masquerade style masks and 6 silk scarves (the kind of things I reckonsss an 18th century princess might have used). I am going to base each outcome on 12 girls that I know, by gathering information on them in a short survey I wrote. I have then created "profiles" in my book as a reference to the type of person they have and what they are interested in. My final "show space" is going to be like some of the locations mentioned in the book....silver, gold and diamond forests. :)
So here's a few pages of what I've done so far!

Marie Antoinette/Kirsten Dunst (excuse my rubbish webcam photos)
Keira Knightly in The Duchess
Me peering down at some artist research and responses
And one of my "profile pages" (no, not like facebook!)
Anyway there will be more to come once I started on some drawing and pattern designing for my silk scarfs, which I will be starting from tomorrow onwards. How exciting ;)

Holycombe Steam Fair
FINALLY have my photos from the "Brighton" project. My first set of photos in the white space in our class didn't turn out so good and looked a little grubby, so on Saturday I went to this Steam Fair near Liphook, which I've been going to since I was about 5 which was nice to visit again :) And the guy who works there opened up especially for me and had gotten up early so he could take the rain cover off the "roundabout" for me, cute!
So here are the best photos :)

Knuckle Down
Right so this is my first day of doing art for 3 days as I've been busy busy for 3 days over Easter! (Happy birthday mummy and Rach!!)
I've been looking at people like Jennifer Collier (who makes beautiful shoes and clothes out of books and maps), Marie Antoinette; just about to watch the film! And lots of other bits and bobs.
More importantly....went to London on Wednesday with Evie and we were there for about 10 FRICKIN HOURS!!!! Yeah, suck that! We went to the V&A but the fashion is STILL closed, but opens in May ( fat lot of good it'll be then), but we had a look round anyway at the jewellery and the theatre and performance section (which helped a lot with dresses and illustrations). We went to the Museum of London as well and walked through the "expanding city" walk, which went from the 1700s to the present day so there were lots of useful references there. And best of all I went to the Pleasure Gardens which were full off gorgeous pastel 18th century gowns, fans and masks! And I got some sneaky pictures little did the guard know. It was a small exhibit but useful!
Plus we found the mayors carriage, which was a plus as I didn't know it was there. Not 18th century but still princessy-esque!!
And for my friend Evie's project we went to whitechapel and the hunterian museum which was GRIM but so interesting, I do think that the surgeon who collected all the specimins was a little disturbed though. He had babies in jars, that's just not right is it?!
